To play the game, we had to position Plinko’s box at the right angle, so that when throwing the crazy cubes at it, they would stay inside the box instead of bouncing outwards. The students would then take turns throwing their crazy cubes into Plinko’s box, and the balls would bounce inside until they fell into one of the compartments at the bottom. The letter in the compartment where the ball landed was then the first letter of the word that the students had to write.
This game was a lot of fun and worked on a lot of different skills. There was a lot of relay practice, finger strengthening when using the crazy cubes, visual-motor coordination when watching the ball go down the Plinko board, and fine motor skills when writing the required word. It was an excellent activity that I intend to repeat often. I did it again with another student and, since I forgot the crazy cubes, we used marbles. We managed to work most of the skills, although the crazy cubes add an extra layer of fun and challenge.
